The Midwest Institute for Sexuality and Gender Diversity is delighted to announce the 7th annual Trans(Gender) Justice Teach-in, "The (Literal) Debate for Trans Lives: Insight from Trans Elected Officials," to be held virtually on Wednesday, December 13. The program brings together in conversation State Representatives Liish Kozlowski and Leigh Finke, and moderator R.B. Brooks to reflect on their motivations to run for office, experiences on the legislative floor, and how they navigate their positions when anti-trans and other oppressive legislation comes up.
Attendance is free and the event is open to the public. Registration is not required. Tune in on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. EST / 5:00 p.m. CST / 4:00 p.m. MST / 3:00 p.m. PST—and visit the YouTube stream to subscribe to an in-app notification when the event is live.
The conversation is hosted as part of the Institute's Trans(Gender) Justice Teach-in, a program dedicated to centering trans, nonbinary, and intersex knowledge, experiences, and liberation. Held annually in the fall, the teach-in is a partnership between the Midwest Institute for Sexuality and Gender Diversity and the University of Minnesota-Duluth's Sexuality & Gender Equity Initiatives.
