Program Coordinator

TK Morton is a program coordinator for the Midwest Institute for Sexuality and Gender Diversity board of directors and a program coordinator at Edgewood College. At Edgewood, ze runs a Multicultural Student Achievement Program that supports underrepresented students, creates a sense of belonging, and builds professional skills to navigate Predominately White Institutions (PWIs). Ze is a Black Trans Queer Person born and raised in Kalamazoo, Michigan, currently living in Madison, Wisconsin. Ze holds a bachelor's degree in women’s and gender studies from Eastern Michigan University, where ze focused on creating radical ways for zirs communities to thrive in these oppressive institutions. Ze is also a board member of the Transliberation Art Coalition, a collective creating a more just environment for trans and gender non-conforming artists and performers in Madison and the greater Midwest. As a new artist, ze is rediscovering what it means to be black, queer, trans, and a spiritual being. Ze is learning this through photography and tarot cards. When ze is not working on art, ze enjoys K-pop and quality time with the family cat. (Photo by Alex Mancini)
